Warning over Nottingham parking ticket scam

Motorists in Nottingham have been warned a parking ticket scam could be operating in the area.

A driver in Netherfield found a ticket for an apparent offence in the city centre - despite his car not having moved from outside his house.

The document, from The UK Parkhorse Agency, threatened an increasing fine and civil action if ignored.

Officers said motorists should alert to suspicious tickets and be careful who they give bank or card details to.

Nottinghamshire police added they were liaising with colleagues in the Northumbria force as a Wearside address was given for the company involved.
