Three arrested over knife robbery at Frankie and Benny's

Two 25-year-old men and a 17-year-old girl have been arrested over an armed robbery at a Nottingham restaurant.

Police were called to Frankie and Benny's at Giltbrook Retail Park at about 22:15 BST on Sunday.

A group of masked men went in armed with knives and threatened staff before escaping in a silver Mercedes with a quantity of cash, police said.

Police later found the car abandoned in Digby Street, Kimberely. It is thought the robbers got into a white van.

No one was injured in the robbery as the restaurant was closing up and no customers were present.

Det Insp Andy Bateman from Nottinghamshire Police said: "We are looking for a number of offenders, who were all wearing dark, winter-style jackets and face coverings.

"This is particularly poignant considering how hot it was that night."

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious near the time of the robbery is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police.
