Crews fight straw stack fire in Nottinghamshire

Firefighters have been dealing with a blaze at a straw stack in Nottinghamshire.

Crews from West Bridgford, Highfields and Central stations were called to the fire at Wilford Lane, Ruddington, at about 22:50 BST on Thursday.

A fire spokesman said crews were still at the scene damping down. About 200 tonnes of straw and hay were damaged.

It is not thought the incident is linked to a recent spate of hay and straw fires in the county.

Police are investigating fires at five other farms which were targeted by arsonists the night before.
