A man has appeared in court accused of the murder of a mother-of-two from Nottingham.

Carl Powell, 23, from Carlton, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court via videolink charged with the murder of Caroline Coyne.

Ms Coyne, 26, was found dead in Thorneywood Mount on 23 July.

Mr Powell did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody until December. He has denied two other charges under the sexual offences act.

It is alleged the sexual offences were committed against a female in the Carlton area of the city.

He is due to face those matters at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 5 September.
