Burglaries in Mansfield prompts police warning
Residents in part of Nottinghamshire are being urged to secure their homes and cars following a number of burglaries.
Over the past two weeks, 15 properties in the Mansfield area have been broken into along with reports of 18 car thefts.
Nottinghamshire Police said increased patrols would be carried out in the area.
Insp Mark Webster said residents should ensure doors and windows were locked.
"Unscrupulous thieves act on opportunity and if they see an open door, an unlocked window or an insecure car, they will not think twice about about stealing your prized possessions.
"There are very simple precautions and measures residents can take to make it as difficult as they can for thieves."
