Pupil stable after Hucknall National school fight

A 13-year-old boy, who was injured during a fight in a Nottinghamshire classroom, is still in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

The pupil was seriously hurt during the fight in a year nine class at the National Church of England Academy in Hucknall on Thursday morning.

He is being treated at Leicester's Glenfield Hospital.

Police are continuing to question a 13-year-old boy in connection with the altercation.

The injured boy was initially taken to King's Mill Hospital, near Mansfield, before being transferred to the hospital in Leicester.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokeswoman said officers were working with the school as part of their investigation.

The school remained open as usual after the incident.
