Mansfield fatal crash boy named by police

A 16-year-old boy who died after being hit by a car in Nottinghamshire has been named by police.

Aaron Britt, of Goldfinch Close, Mansfield, sustained serious head injuries when he was struck by a car on Derby Road, Mansfield, on Monday.

He later died in hospital from his injuries, police said.

The driver of the Fiat was treated for shock and the road was closed for several hours while police carried out investigations at the scene.

Nottinghamshire Police has appealed for any witness to the incident, which happened at about 17:20 BST, to contact them.
