Man killed in A46 police crash named as Major Rich Angove

A man who died when his car was in collision with a vehicle being followed by police has been named.

Major Rich Angove, 50, died on the A46 near Flintham, Nottinghamshire, on 7 October.

The father-of-two, from Gloucestershire, was an officer in the Army's Royal Corps of Signals.

Martin Casey, of Golf Course Lane, Leicester, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and remanded in custody.

The 26-year-old, who is also charged with driving without insurance, is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 24 October.

Three other men, aged 19, 21 and 39, were arrested close the scene of the collision.

The 19-year-old and 21-year-old have been bailed. The 39-year-old has been released without charge.

Police watchdog the Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating the crash.
