Man admits causing death of Major Rich Angove in crash

A 26-year-old Leicester man has admitted causing the death of an Army officer in a crash in Nottinghamshire.

Major Rich Angove, 50, died when his car was in collision with a vehicle being followed by police on the A46 near Flintham, on 7 October.

The father-of-two, from Gloucestershire, was an officer in the Army's Royal Corps of Signals.

At Nottingham Crown Court Martin Casey, of Golf Course Lane, admitted causing death by dangerous driving.

Casey also admitted driving without insurance.

He was remanded into custody and is due to be sentenced at the same court on 31 October.

The police watchdog, the Independent Police Complaints Commission, is investigating the crash.
