Three released in Mansfield murder inquiry

Three men have been released on bail after a man's body was found at a housing complex in Nottinghamshire.

John-Paul Johnson, 42, was found at a housing complex in Chesterfield Road South in Mansfield on Tuesday at about 10:00 BST.

A post-mortem examination has found he died from chest injuries.

Eight people were arrested on suspicion of murder. A woman, 25, and a man 39, were released without charge on Wednesday. Three men remain in custody.

The three men released on bail are aged 25, 39 and 43.

The men in custody are aged 19, 24 and 29.

Det Ch Insp Tony Heydon said: "The family of Mr Johnson are clearly devastated by their loss, and they are being supported by specialist family liaison officers.

"Three people remain in custody and they will be questioned further throughout the day."

He urged anyone who heard a disturbance at the property in the early hours of Tuesday to come forward.

A cordon remains in place while forensic examinations continue.
