Landlord stabbed in Bakersfield pub burglary

A landlord has been stabbed in the hand as he disturbed a burglar at his Nottingham pub.

The man was confronted by the offender at the Inn on the Hill pub on Greenwood Road, Bakersfield, at about 02:00 GMT on Saturday.

He suffered a serious cut to his hand and was treated in hospital.

A number of electrical items were taken from the pub and recovered nearby. It is not yet known if anything else was stolen.

Det Con Mike Ebbins said: "It would appear that the offender had targeted the pub, but was unwittingly disturbed by the landlord while trying to commit this burglary.

"He was clearly willing to use the weapon when confronted and it is imperative that we identify him as soon as possible."

The offender is described as white, about 5ft 7in tall, of medium build and aged between 20 to 30.
