Arrest over attempted armed robbery in Eastwood

A man has been arrested following a five-month investigation into an attempted robbery in which a courier was shot.

The courier had finished filling a cash machine at Tesco Express in Eastwood when he was shot in the leg.

No cash was stolen in the incident, which happened outside the store in Nottingham Road on 22 July.

A 25-year-old man from Nottingham was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of robbery and has been bailed.

He was also arrested on suspicion of burglary, relating to the alleged theft of an Audi car from a house in Arnold on 21 July.

Nottinghamshire Police had previously offered a reward of up to £10,000 for information about the attempted robbery, which happened at around 13:30 GMT.
