Arrest over series of West Bridgford shop raids

A man has been arrested in connection with a series of robberies and attempted robberies in Nottingham.

The 31-year-old, from Edwalton, is being questioned in connection with raids on shops in the West Bridgford area earlier this month.

The suspect is also being interviewed about two incidents at nursing homes in the same area.

Two men, aged 25 and 19, arrested earlier in connection with the robberies, have been bailed.

The 31-year-old is being questioned in connection with an attempted robbery at Edwalton Post Office, in Earlswood Drive, on 10 January and a robbery at Edwalton News Bar, in Earlswood Drive, on 11 January.

He is also being questioned in connection with robbery at the Londis Shop, in Boundary Road, West Bridgford, on 12 January and a robbery at McDonald's, in Ratcliffe Road, on 31 December 2010.

The incidents at nursing homes took place on Melton Road on 14 January and on Adbolton Lane, West Bridgford, on 15 January.
