Police have released an e-fit image of a suspect after a series of armed robberies in Nottingham.

Two beauty salons, a money transfer agent and a takeaway were among six businesses targeted by the robber since late November.

The man was described as black, of slim build, wearing blue jeans, a dark waist-length coat and speaking with a Jamaican accent.

In each robbery he threatened staff and customers and left with cash.

'Terrifying experience'

Nottinghamshire Police said in one case he fled the area in a dark-coloured car driven by a second offender.

The six robberies took place at Caribbean businesses between 25 November and 27 January in Sneinton, Carlton, St Anns, Radford, Hyson Green and Sherwood Rise.

One victim, who asked to remain anonymous, said: "I was alone at the time. I thought he was a customer, but then I saw the gun.

"It was a terrifying experience, and something that has completely affected my confidence and sense of security."

Det Ch Insp Rob Griffin said: "While no one has been injured, the robberies have been very frightening and traumatic for the victims."
