Appeal over lone girl seen walking along A60 at Cuckney

Police in Nottinghamshire are trying to trace a young girl seen out walking alone along a main road.

Three people called police on Thursday to say they had seen a girl walking along the A60 near Cuckney between 08:30 and 08:40.

Despite house-to-house inquiries, police said they had been unable to trace the girl, thought to be between five and eight years old.

Anyone with information about the girl is asked to contact police.

The girl is described as white and was wearing a pink coat and was carrying a backpack.

Officers confirmed they had not received any reports of missing children.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: "We are still keen to identify this girl to make sure she is safe.

"Her welfare is the most important issue to us and relatives should have no concern about calling the police if they think she could be the one we are appealing for."
