A murder investigation has started after two bodies were discovered at a house in Nottinghamshire.

Officers found a 64-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman at a house in North Road, West Bridgford, on Thursday.

They said that while the deaths were being treated as suspicious, they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the case.

The two people have not been formally identified and police are continuing to conduct house-to-house inquiries.

Police have confirmed that inquiries into identifying a woman found dead in the River Trent on 15 April led to the discovery of the two bodies at the address in West Bridgford.

Detectives are trying to establish if there is a link.
