Detectives are examining whether the discovery of two bodies at a house in Nottingham is linked to a body found in the River Trent 11 days earlier.

Police opened a murder investigation after finding the 64-year-old man and 31-year-old woman dead at the house in West Bridgford on Thursday morning.

Officers went to the property after finding a woman's body in the River Trent near Colwick.

Formal identification of all three people has yet to be established.

Nottinghamshire Police said the woman, believed to be in her 50s or 60s, was found in the river at about 11:40 BST on 15 April. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police have not yet released the results of a post-mortem on the two bodies found at the property in North Road.
