Labour holds control in Bassetlaw

The Labour Party has held on to control of the district of Bassetlaw and gained a further seven seats in the local election.

A total of 16 seats were contested, representing a third of Bassetlaw District Council.

The Conservatives lost seven of their 18 seats, bringing their total number to 11.

In addition to the Tory seats, the council now has 34 Labour members and the independents have three seats.
