Malakai McKenzie death in Nottingham: Man faces murder charge

A 20-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a teenager who was shot dead in Nottingham.

Malakai McKenzie, 19, was killed outside The Hubb pub in Sherwood on 21 April.

Cameron Cashin, of Liddington Street, Basford, has been charged with murder as well as a related firearms offence.

He was remanded in custody after appearing at Nottingham Magistrates' Court and is due at the city's Crown court on 8 May.

Police have been granted more time to question two men, aged 18 and 20, who were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of murder. They both remain in custody.

A 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder and a 38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been bailed pending further inquiries.

A 17-year-old boy, two men aged 19 and 24 and a 21-year-old woman, who were also arrested in connection with the murder, have also been bailed.
