Men in court over the murder of Malakai McKenzie in Nottingham

Two men have appeared before Nottingham Magistrates' Court charged with murder.

Malakai McKenzie, 19, was fatally wounded in the car park of The Hubb, in Hucknall Road, Sherwood, on 21 April.

Ijah Lavelle-Moore, 20, and Malcolm Vaughan Francis, 18, both from Nottingham, have also been charged with a firearms offence.

A third man, Cameron Cashin, 20, of Liddington Street, Basford, appeared in court on Friday also charged with Mr McKenzie's murder.

He is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 8 May.

Mr Lavelle-Moore and Mr Francis will appear at crown court on 9 May.

A 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder and a 38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been bailed pending further inquiries.

A 17-year-old boy, two men aged 19 and 24 and a 21-year-old woman, also arrested in connection with the murder, have also been bailed.
