Passers-by quizzed in hunt for Nottingham River Trent man

Police will be stopping passers-by in Nottingham after a river search for a possible missing man failed to find him.

Nottinghamshire Police called out divers and boats on Monday after reports a man had gone into the water near Trent Bridge.

Despite underwater and riverbank searches, police did not find anything.

Officers will be stopping pedestrians on Trent Bridge to ask if anyone has more information about the man.

A police spokesman added detectives were liaising with the family of a missing man, who may be linked to the case.

Anyone who may have seen the man or has any further information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police.
