Work to improve footpaths alongside the River Trent in Nottinghamshire will start in late August.

A two-mile (3.5km) stretch between Beeston and Attenborough will be resurfaced in the project.

The £350,000 facelift will include new chicanes to help control cycle speeds along the path.

"People want to enjoy the environment and we want make sure it is suitable for them," Councillor Stan Heptinstall of Broxtowe Borough Council said.
