Two men have robbed a Nottinghamshire post office, armed with what police believe was a handgun.

The robbers, who were in a silver Volvo with blacked-out windows, entered the shop on Trent Boulevard, in Lady Bay at about 11:00 BST.

They were wearing dark clothing with their faces covered and escaped with cash. No-one was injured.

Police said the offenders left in the car but one of the men got out at Lady Bay Road and ran into a nature reserve.

The car continued along Holme Road and Adbolton Road before being dumped in Moore Close.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses.
