A 71-year-old Nottinghamshire man has appeared in court accused of strangling his wife at their home.
Peter Thurgarland was charged with the murder of his 70-year-old wife Julia in the village of Maplebeck.
The church warden's body was found by paramedics on the afternoon of 28 December at the farm where they lived.
