Pleasley mother and son rescued from fire

A mother and her 15-year-old son have been rescued from a house fire in Nottinghamshire.

Firefighters forced their way into the property on Bagshaw Street, Pleasley, at about 02:30 BST, and rescued the pair from the ground floor.

The fire started in the kitchen and investigations will begin into the cause later, officers said.

Both people were taken to King's Mill Hospital where they are being treated for smoke inhalation.
