Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap returns to its original theatre

Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap, the world's longest running play, has returned to Nottingham's Theatre Royal, 60 years after it was premiered there.

Lucy Thomas from the Theatre Royal said on the first night in 1952 Christie sat in one of the boxes and watched the audience instead of the play.

After that she called it her "lucky theatre".

Steven France, who plays Christopher Wren in the new production, said: "It is quite surreal to bring it back to where it all began. They were only expecting it to go on for a week and 60 years later we find ourselves back here."
