A 22-year-old man who died after being stabbed in a Nottinghamshire street has been named by police.

Joshua Strumskyte, 22, was attacked in Wollaton Avenue, Gedling, at about 22:45 BST on Tuesday, and later died in hospital.

Two men, aged 18 and 19, arrested in connection with the murder, are still in custody and are helping police with their investigation.

A 17-year-old boy has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

A Home Office post-mortem examination found that Mr Strumskyte died from a stab wound.

Ch Insp Kerry McLernon urged anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the force.

She said: "We would like to reassure the community that attacks of this nature are rare and we believe this was an isolated incident."
