A man has been jailed for killing a Nottinghamshire pensioner who collapsed and died after an attempted robbery.

Colin Hall, 76, died in hospital after being attacked in his home on Cornerpin Drive, Kirkby-in-Ashfield on the evening of 10 February.

Scott Kennedy, 39, of Hill View Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield pleaded guilty to manslaughter, attempted robbery and having an imitation firearm.

He was sentenced to 17 years.

Nottingham Crown Court was told Kennedy had confronted Mr Hall at his home with a BB gun.
