Woman punched to floor in Eastwood robbery

A 56-year-old woman has been injured by robbers who grabbed her from behind and punched her to the floor.

She was punched by one of the men when she did not react as he demanded her purse.

Police want to speak to people in a grey car who helped the woman, after being forced to do an emergency stop as the robbers fled into the road.

The robbery happened in Derby Road, Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, at about 13:00 BST on Saturday.

The robbers ran off with the woman's purse in the direction of Bailey Grove Road.

Det Con Rich Kinsey said: "The people in the car helped the victim but we would like to speak to them, or anyone else who may have witnessed this attack."

Both men were white and had a skinny build.

One, aged about 20, was 5ft 10ins tall and wore a cream Nike baseball cap with a dark coloured tick, a cream zipped top, blue jeans and new white trainers.

The other, aged about 18, was 5ft 10ins and wore a cream baseball cap, blue jeans, white trainers and a blue and white zipped top.
