Bulwell factory fire: Roads closed and homes evacuated
Part of a shelving factory is at serious risk of collapse after a fire which led to road closures and homes being evacuated.
Firefighters were called to the site on Coventry Road in Bulwell, Nottingham, at about 11:30 GMT.
Richard Ellis from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said a 200m exclusion zone was established owing to a "deep-seated fire and acetylene cylinder".
The building is due to be assessed by structural engineers.
It took several hours to bring the fire under control and make the area safe, Mr Ellis said.
The fire service said it was working with police, East Midlands Ambulance Service and the Environment Agency to protect the area as the building is close to the River Leen.
Train services between Nottingham and Mansfield were severely delayed due to the cordon and tram services were also disrupted.
East Midlands Trains and Nottingham City Transport said services were now running again.
