Prince William 'selfie' photos were a dare

2 January 2014 Last updated at 21:45 GMT

A girl who persuaded Prince William to pose for "selfie" photos says it all started with a dare from her mother.

Madison Lambe, 12, from Boston in Lincolnshire, took the snaps with her mother's mobile phone.

The BBC's Simon Spark met Madison, and couldn't resist asking for a "selfie" with her himself.

Her mother, Paula Scrupps, and royal commentator Robert Jobson also spoke to the BBC.
