A man has been charged following a 10-hour armed siege at a snooker hall in Nottinghamshire.

Police surrounded the Spot On snooker club in Hucknall on Thursday following reports of a suspect with a gun.

Reece Theison has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.

The 20-year-old, of no fixed address, was also charged with theft and criminal damage, and appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court earlier.

Police were called to the club in Vine Terrace at 14.20 GMT on Thursday, and armed officers entered the premises at 00.40 on Friday.

Police said two women had "managed to keep themselves hidden in the building" during the siege.

They were guided to safety by officers at about 20:40 and were "unharmed but extremely distressed by their ordeal", police said.
