Selston's first war memorial unveiled
A war memorial has been unveiled commemorating a Nottinghamshire village's soldiers who died in both world wars.
Selston previously had just a plaque inside a church to mark its fallen servicemen but many of the names were missing.
More than 80 names have now been engraved on the £38,000 memorial.
It has been unveiled a week ahead of national events to mark the centenary of World War One.
Nottinghamshire County Council provided £20,000 towards the memorial with the remainder coming from Ashfield District Council and Selston Parish Council.
