Man dies after being hit by lorry in Faringdon

A man has died after he was hit by a lorry while walking along a road in Oxfordshire.

The accident happened on the A420 near to Faringdon on Friday evening.

An off duty police officer was the first person on the scene who, along with the lorry driver, gave the 39-year-old pedestrian first aid.

He was taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, but died shortly after arriving. The road was closed for four hours.
