Four men injured in brawl outside Oxfordshire pub

Four men were taken to hospital after a brawl outside a pub in Oxfordshire involving more than 20 people.

There was no disorder in the Ox pub in Abingdon but a fight broke out as revellers left a drum and bass night at about midnight on Friday night.

Two men suffered injuries after being struck by a bottle, one needed surgery after he was stamped on and the fourth was kicked and punched.

Police believe other people were injured and asked them to come forward.

No arrests

Det Con John Ablett, of Abingdon CID, said: "This was an isolated incident which seems to have been caused by comments made between people as they were leaving a drum and bass night at the Ox pub.

"Four people suffered nasty injuries in the resulting disorder, but we believe more people were assaulted who have not yet come forward. No arrests have been made as yet.

"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the disorder to come forward including any local residents who saw the incident or anyone who was travelling past in a taxi or a bus for example."

All those injured are from the Abingdon area and are aged in their early 20s.
