Man charged over teenager's Oxford crash death

A 20-year-old motorist has been charged with causing the death of a teenager involved in a car crash in Oxfordshire.

Police were called to Cuddesdon Road in the Horspath area of Oxford in October 2010.

Sidney Spiers, 19, died in hospital following the crash, in which the vehicle he was travelling in left the road and hit a brick footbridge.

The 20-year-old man, from Marylands Green, Chiselhampton, was charged with causing death by careless driving.

He was bailed to appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court on 10 February.
