Knifeman robs Oxfordshire veterinary practice

A knifeman who held up a veterinary practice in Oxfordshire is being hunted by detectives.

The robber entered the Hawthorn Lodge in Banbury, with a knife in the waistband of his jeans and ordered staff to hand over money from the till.

His accomplice waited at the entrance to the building, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery, which was committed on Thursday night, is asked to contact Thames Valley Police.

The robbers are described as white and aged between 17 and 20 years old. They were both wearing hooded tops.

Det Sgt Chris Whitwell said: "I believe there was a woman in the area walking her collie dog at the time of the robbery that may have seen the suspects as they fled the scene."
