Police have released an e-fit of a man wanted in connection with a sexual assault on a 19-year-old woman in Oxford.

The victim became the fifth woman in the city to be sexually assaulted within a week, police have said.

She was punched in the head several times in the attack in Westbury Crescent, Cowley, early on Sunday.

Police have not ruled out a link to four other recent sexual attacks in the Southfield Road area of the city.

The attacker is described as in his late 20s, about 5ft 6in, clean shaven, of medium build, with dark hair and olive skin and is possibly Albanian.

Police said the offender, who was wearing a light-coloured, sleeveless polo-style top, approached his victim from behind and pushed her to the ground, at about 0330 BST.

She managed to break free after being sexually assaulted and ran off in the direction of Rose Hill Road.

The attack came three days after two women, aged 19 and 20, were attacked by a man in the early hours of Thursday in the Southfield Road area.

Two other women, aged 21 and 24, were also the victims of similar attacks in the area early on Sunday, 29 May.

Anyone with information about any of the attacks is asked to contact Thames Valley Police.
