Pedestrian dies near Kennington after being hit by car

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car on the A34 in Oxford.

The 20-year-old was on the exit slip road at Redbridge Hollow, heading towards Kennington, when the accident happened on Saturday at about 0150 BST.

He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

An inquiry into the collision, between the man and a blue Vauxhall Astra car, has started to establish how the pedestrian came to be on the slip road.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
