Sex assault on 65-year old woman in Dorchester investigated

A sexual assault on a 65-year-old woman in Dorchester, Oxfordshire has similarities to two attacks in nearby Berinsfield in July, police say.

The woman was walking her dog through Hurst Meadow, near to Manor Farm Road, on Wednesday at 17:30 BST when she knocked to the ground by a man.

The offender was disturbed during the incident and ran off.

Thames Valley Police said it was a "frightening experience" for the victim who suffered a cut to her upper lip.

Approached from behind

The offender is described as being of mixed race or having tanned skin, in his late teens to early 20s with dark hair. He was wearing a blue T-shirt and shorts.

In all three incidents women were approached from behind.

Det Sgt Craig Burchall said: "I appreciate that there will be some concern in the community about these incidents.

"I would like to reassure people that incidents of this nature are rare but women should think about their personal safety and take sensible precautions."
