Four arrested after Carterton assault

A man and three boys have been arrested in connection with a serious assault on a man in Oxfordshire.

Thames Valley Police said the incident took place in Sedge Way, Carterton, shortly after 00:30 BST on Saturday.

An 18-year-old man and the boys, two aged 16 and one aged 15, were arrested nearby on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and later released on bail.

The 25-year-old victim was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with fractured ribs and a chest injury.

Det Con Rob Hughes said: "Although we have made some arrests we still need to speak to any witnesses or anyone who has any information about this incident.

"This assault happened in the early hours of the morning but it is still likely that other people were around the area at the time, or that people living nearby were disturbed by the incident."
