Bicester axe raiders target petrol station

Three men armed with an axe threatened a petrol station worker in Oxfordshire before fleeing with money.

The raiders, who were wearing balaclavas, gloves and hoods, burst into the Texaco service station in Oxford Road, Bicester, on Sunday night.

They threatened a 24-year-old male employee and forced him to hand over an undisclosed amount of money.

The worker suffered a minor cut to his arm in the attack. Police have appealed for information.

Det Con Rebecca McCamley, from Banbury CID, said: "This was clearly a frightening incident for the man who was working in the petrol station at the time of the incident."
