Oxfordshire firefighters on recruitment drive

Oxfordshire's firefighters are to visit towns in the South and Vale area of the county to encourage people to become retained firefighters.

Crews will visit Thame, Henley and Faringdon in January to hand out leaflets and invite people to apply.

Officers will also visit businesses within 1.5 miles of fire stations to talk to bosses about releasing staff for firefighting duties.

The first event is due to take place at Thame Town Hall on Saturday 7 January.

Events are also planned at Henley Town Hall on Saturday 14 January and Faringdon Town Centre on Saturday 21 January.
