Witney paedophile who posted online images is jailed

An Oxfordshire man who filmed himself sexually abusing a child has been jailed for 12 years.

Timothy Edmonds, 27, from Witney was identified by police 14 hours after he uploaded the images online.

He admitted 15 child sex offences, carried out against one child over two years, at Oxford Crown Court.

His arrest was a result of a joint international operation after Danish authorities located the child sex abuse images on the internet.

The images were referred to the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP), which identified the suspect and the exact location of the abuse.

CEOP Deputy Chief Executive Andy Baker said: "Offenders who think they can share images of child abuse online should think twice - no matter where in the world you or your victims are, we and other law enforcement partners will work tirelessly to ensure you are identified, caught and brought to justice."
