Teenage girl sexually assaulted in Oxford

A 15-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted in Oxford.

The attack happened in Quarry Road, Headington, at about 19:50 GMT on Monday.

Detectives said the girl was followed by a man who began talking to her before she was pushed up against a fence and assaulted.

The victim managed to push the man away and ran to a friend's house. Police are appealing for information.

The attacker is described as black, 6ft 1in, aged between 25 and 30, of slim build, with dark stubble around his chin and upper lip. His right eye looked swollen and stretched to the side.

He was wearing a hooded top with a coat on top that appeared to be waterproof, and dark-coloured trousers.

Officers are trying to trace a blonde woman driving a new-shape Ford Fiesta who asked the attacker directions to Old Road.

PC Rachel Linzey, of Thames Valley Police, said: "The victim saw the man being stopped by a passing driver at the junction of Margaret Road and Quarry Road shortly before the incident... We are keen to speak to them."
