Oxford Help for Heroes donations stolen

Thousands of pounds in donations to the Help for Heroes charity in Oxford have been stolen.

The money, collected on behalf of the wounded servicemen charity in the city centre between January and March, failed to reach its donations account.

A 25-year-old man from Witney was arrested on suspicion of fraud and a property was searched. He was bailed until 25 April.

The value of the donations is between £2,000 and £7,000, police said.
