An Oxfordshire university campus has been chosen as the location of a Diamond Jubilee garden party hosted by the Queen.

About 4,000 guests will join the Queen and Prince Philip on 25 June at Henley Business College, run by Reading University, near Henley-on-Thames.

The results of a public ballot for about a quarter of the tickets were announced on Wednesday.

The Thames-side event is part of the Queen's UK-wide Diamond Jubilee tour.

The event at the 30-acre (12-hectare) campus near Henley-on-Thames is being organised by the Lord Lieutenants of Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

On the day a river pageant including a Viking boat crewed by University of Reading rowers will mark the role and impact of the River Thames on the Thames Valley region for more than 1,000 years.
