Woman attacked in grounds of Oxford care home

A woman has been seriously sexually assaulted in the grounds of a care home in Oxford.

The woman in her twenties was allegedly grabbed by a man and dragged into the grounds of the home in Banbury Road late on Monday.

The attacker is described as white, about 6ft tall, with mousey-brown hair.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and remains in custody. Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses.

Investigating officer Det Insp Steve Raffield said: "This was a frightening ordeal for the young victim and we are determined to bring the person responsible to justice.

"This happened on a busy road and there would still have been traffic and pedestrians passing despite the lateness of the hour.

"I am keen to speak to anyone who saw a man matching the offender's description hanging around before the incident, or running away after it."
