Man bailed over Witney takeaway attack

A 24-year-old man arrested after a teenager was left with serious head injuries in an attack in an Oxfordshire takeaway has been released on bail.

The victim, 19, was attacked at USA Fried Chicken on Corn Street in Witney in the early hours of Saturday.

He was taken to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital where he remains in a "serious condition", police said.

The man, who was arrested on suspicion of assault, has been bailed until Wednesday, Thames Valley Police said.

Another man, aged 23, and a woman, aged 22, who were also arrested, were cautioned over the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
