Man discovered injured in Oxford street

A man has been found unconscious with head injuries in an Oxford street.

The man, who is thought to be 44, was found on the pavement in Catte Street, near St Mary The Virgin Church, on Tuesday morning.

He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Officers are trying to confirm who he is, trace his next of kin and establish how he was injured. The man is white and 6ft (1.83m) tall.

He was wearing a white T-shirt, a blue sweater, jeans and brown shoes.

Thames Valley Police have appealed for witnesses to contact officers.
